In 2012 Voice Pro was launched by an independent app developer to allow people to record and adjust audio clips – edit, cut, eliminate noise, add effects and tracks…and so on…and it got great reviews:

The developer soon noticed that the revenue being earned didn’t seem to match the praise of the reviews and the quoted usage numbers. An investigation revealed that an enterprising hacker had reverse engineered the app and rebuilt it in the illegal marketplace where users could download it for free.
